Seismic performance of structures and buildings during the 26 December 2003 Bam earthquake, Iran

A large earthquake with magnitude M 6.3 occurred in City of Bam in Kerman province, southeast of Iran on 26 December 2003. The earthquake caused a death toll of ~35000. Shortly after the earthquake, we visited the city to assess the performance of the buildings and structures. Most of the houses were adobe houses or masonry buildings which almost all damaged due to the earthquake.

The paper published in Asian Journal of Civil Engineering reports our findings. Please click here for the pdf file of the paper.
