MyScience-Cruise Expedition METEOR M124

MyScience-Cruise Expedition METEOR M124

10 outstanding students from countries bordering the South Atlantic were elected to join an 18-days expedition with the German research vessel METEOR that started on 29. February 2016 in Cape Town, South Africa.

The young scientists from 7 nations participated actively in the research conducted during the cruise, covering physical oceanography, marine meteorology, biogeochemistry, plankton ecology, and paleoceanography. Expert training on a variety of observing instrumentation as well as lectures were provided. The students worked out a specific science topic that was presented during a reception at the end of the cruise on the 18. March in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Here the students reported daily about the life and experiences at sea.

Further information on all participants, the cruise and the instrumentations can be found here.
