The 10th of March was a special day for the students. The Expedition MSM106 took part in the UN Ocean Decade Ocean Laboratory “A Healthy and Resilient Ocean” as a satellite activity. The students produced a live-stream video from the Atlantic Ocean onboard of R/V Maria S. Merian.

Melissa Ndure from Sierra Leone guided the followers very lively and competent across the working deck and to the laboratories on the research vessel. All of the students really had a great experience doing ‘hands on’ science communication. What a wonderful team effort!

Der 10. März war ein besonderer Tag für die Studierenden. Sie haben sich im Rahmen der UN-Ozeandekade am Ozeanlabor “Ein gesunder und widerstandsfähiger Ozean” als Satellite Activity beteiligt. Die Studierenden organisierten einen Live-Stream vom Atlantik an Bord der FS Maria S. Merian.

Melissa Ndure aus Sierra Leone führte die Zuschauer sehr lebendig und kompetent über das Arbeitsdeck und in die Labore des Forschungsschiffs. Für alle Studierenden war es eine einzigartige Erfahrung, Wissenschaftskommunikation erlebbar und begreifbar zu machen. Was für eine tolle Teamleistung!
