New Exhibition Website Launched

With the exhibition starting in Fortaleza today, we simultaneously launched the official “Future Ocean Dialogue”-Website. It features an additional online experience for visitors of the exhibition, offering further information that go beyond the actual exhibits. Those additional contents are mainly interactive multimedia items that were especially optimized for mobile devices. So those tech-savvy visitors that like to make use of their smartphones and tablets to acquire further information during their stay at the exhibition are targeted.

Together with this exhibition blog, the new website further allows those interested to visit the exhibition virtually without having to be in Brazil. Along with the aforementioned additional contents, this virtual tour displays all contents that are also shown in the actual exhibition. To account for the needs of the main audiences, the website is presented in three languages: Portuguese, English and German.

Altogether, these online media are designed to support the desired interaction between visitors and scientists – which is one major claim of our travelling exhibition. Those interested to contribute to this exchange are invited to ask questions and give feedback directly to the scientists back in Kiel – simply by using the contact forms that accompany each presented topic. Hence the newly designed web presence together with the exhibition blog offer an opportunity to turn the new exhibition into a true “Future Ocean Dialogue” between science and society.
