\nBecause the Arctic Ocean is an interesting and challenging Ocean with relevance for the earth’s climate, with complex processes to study and a great history of Polar exploration, which adds to the excitement of studying the Arctic today.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nI knew about half of them.<\/p>\n
\nThe clearest change is manifested in the decline of the arctic sea ice cover, and associated with that we see strong variability in the oceanographic parameters. In particular, ocean temperatures are noticeably warmer during the longer open water summer season.<\/p>\n
\nThe best part of waking up is usually to find a fresh cup of coffee in the lab.<\/span><\/p>\n

\nI’d buy me a plane ticket home, but I already have one. Other than that I’m pretty satisfied right now.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nI’ve had many exciting trips in the past, the last vacation I went on was a week of hiking in the Black Forest with my family.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nAll the Arctic mammals are very charismatic, in terms of weather phenomena, Arctic cyclone are among the most impressive storm systems up here. They make for impressive weather maps and remind those people cruising the Arctic on little ships that the Arctic is no playground.<\/span><\/p>\n
\nNow that I’m back on a somewhat normal sleep schedule I give my motivation for this a solid 7!<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIch studiere die Arktis, weil sie ein interessantes und kompliziertes System ist mit Bedeutung f\u00fcr das globale Klima, komplexe Prozesse zu untersuchen, und au\u00dferdem eine gro\u00dfartige Polarforschungsgeschichte hat, die man auch immer im Hinterkopf hat, wenn man sich hier oben aufh\u00e4lt<\/span><\/p>\n
\nIch kannte etwas mehr als die H\u00e4lfte der Teilnehmer<\/span><\/p>\n
\nDer deutlichste Wandel zeigt sich im R\u00fcckgang der Meereisbedeckung und damit verbunden mit den \u00c4nderungen der ozeanographischen Parameter. Insbesondere in unserem Forschungsgebiet wird die Periode des offenen Wassesr immer l\u00e4nger im Sommer und Wassertemperaturen nehmen damit verbunden stetig zu<\/span><\/p>\n
\nDas Beste nach dem Aufwachen ist, ins Labor zu kommen und eine frische Tasse Kaffee zu finden<\/span><\/p>\n

\nIch w\u00fcrde mir ein Ticket nach Hause kaufen, allerdings hab ich schon eins und bin deshalb f\u00fcrs Erste zufrieden<\/span><\/p>\n
\nIch hatte schon recht viele spannende Reisen gemacht. Der letzte Urlaub war ein netter Wanderausflug in den Schwarzwald mit meiner Familie<\/span><\/p>\n
\nAlle arktischen Tiere sind sehr charismatisch. In Sachen Wetterph\u00e4nomen geh\u00f6ren die arktischen Zyklone zu den beeidruckendsten Wettersystemen hier oben. Das ergibt interessante Wetterkarten und erinnert die Leute, die hier oben auf kleinen Schiffen rumgurken, daran, dass die Arktis kein Spielplatz ist!<\/span><\/p>\n
