\nI knew all colleagues except our new POMOR students Liliya, Masha and Alexey. And Matthias I only knew by phone<\/p>\n
\nMy first samples from the Arctic water column were taken in 1987. Between 1987 and 1991\/1994, we already saw large-scale changes in the central Arctic. The large-scale changes caused by anthropogenic influence in the sea-ice cover became shockingly obvious in 2007. The changes I see in the Arctic water column -also since 2007-\u00a0 are not so very obvious as the processes I detect are connected to many others that influence each other and might enhance or dampen each other. Yes I “see” changes, and it is an exciting task to find out which role they play with the obvious large-scale changes<\/p>\n
\nWaking up after more than 3-5 hours of sleep is only possible for me for another interesting station or for a good meal<\/p>\n

\nIch kannte bereits alle Kollegen au\u00dfer unseren neuen POMOR-Studenten Liliya, Masha und Alexey. Und Matthias\u00a0 kannte ich nur vom Telefonieren<\/p>\n
\nMeine ersten Proben aus der arktischen Wassers\u00e4ule, die ich bearbeitet habe, stammen von 1987. Zwischen 1987 und 1991\/1994 haben wir bereits gro\u00dfr\u00e4umige Ver\u00e4nderungen in der zentralen Arktis beobachtet. Die durch den menschlichen Einfluss verursachten gro\u00dfen offensichtlichen Ver\u00e4nderungen in der Meereisbedeckung sind 2007 pl\u00f6tzlich und in schockierendem Ausma\u00df offensichtlich geworden. Die Ver\u00e4nderungen, die ich in meinen Proben in der Wassers\u00e4ule ebenfalls seit 2007 sehe, sind nicht ganz so offensichtlich, da sie mit vielen Mechanismen verbunden sind, die sich gegenseitig beeinflussen und d\u00e4mpfen oder verst\u00e4rken k\u00f6nnen. Ja, ich “sehe” Ver\u00e4nderungen, und wie diese innerhalb der offensichtlichen gro\u00dfr\u00e4umigen Ver\u00e4nderungen zu bewerten sind, ist eine spannende Aufgabe<\/p>\n
\nNach nur 3-5 Stunden Schlaf aufstehen, das tue ich nur f\u00fcr eine weitere interessante Station oder f\u00fcr eine gute Mahlzeit<\/p>\n
