\nYes. With a change in ice conditions and dynamics, production patterns and food webs are most probably changing. Are ecological processes in the Arctic currently changing due to climate shifts, or are we still looking at natural variation? That is the question<\/p>\n

\nWhale sightings, yellowish surface waters (ask Jens), bits of ice, and “washing machine” weather in the Kara Sea (the latter is not for everyone)<\/p>\n

\nRunning, diving, enjoying the garden (given time and opportunity)<\/p>\n

15. What was the last thing that you have done just for fun?
\nWearing a pink fake moustache and climbing treetops<\/p>\n

\nDepends on the mood<\/p>\n

\nSit down with a coffee and carefully think about the best thing to do with it<\/p>\n

18. What has been your most exciting vacation so far and where were you?
\nAt the most exciting places I had been for work. Apart from that, diving (everywhere) and climbing Indonesian volcanoes is quite exciting<\/p>\n

19. If you were an Arctic animal\/plant\/weather phenomenon, what would you be?
\nA brittle star. Imagine a circular view of the world, a hundred tiny feet to move around and five arms to handle things with<\/p>\n

Mit \u00c4nderungen in Eisbedingungen und Eisdynamik ver\u00e4ndern sich vermutlich die Nahrungsbeziehungen zwischen den Arten. \u00c4ndern sich \u00f6kologische Prozesse gegenw\u00e4rtig aufgrund von Klima\u00e4nderungen, oder beobachten wir noch nat\u00fcrliche Schwankungen? \nWalsichtungen, tr\u00fcb-gelbliches Oberfl\u00e4chenwasser (frag Jens), erste Eisbrocken und das “Waschmaschinen”-Wetter in der Karasee (letzteres nicht nach jedermanns Geschmack)<\/p>\n

\nF\u00fcr die spannendsten Orte gab es meist einen beruflichen Anlass. Davon abgesehen sind Tauchen (\u00fcberall) und das Besteigen indonesischer Vulkane ziemlich aufregend<\/p>\n

\nEin Schlangenstern. Man stelle sich vor: Rundumblick, einige hundert kleine F\u00fc\u00dfchen und f\u00fcnf Arme, um Dinge zu jonglieren<\/p>\n
