Wir sind wieder in Antofagasta. Heute morgen gegen 8 Uhr Ortszeit hat die SONNE in dem Hafen festgemacht, von dem aus Expedition SO244 vor 16 Tagen begonnen hat. Die meisten von uns bereiten sich gedanklich schon auf die Heimreise vor. Doch bevor wir morgen nach und nach das Schiff verlassen, m\u00fcssen noch die Container mit der Ausr\u00fcstung von Bord.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr mich eine gute Gelegenheit, Danke zu sagen.<\/p>\n

Danke an Heidrun und Dietrich, die das Projekt GeoSEA auf die Beine gestellt haben, obwohl viele Kollegen skeptisch waren, ob es funktionieren w\u00fcrde. Der Erfolg hat Euch Recht gegeben!<\/p>\n

Danke an Anne (K.) f\u00fcr die geduldige Einweisung in den Umgang mit Ozeanbodenseismometern.<\/p>\n

An alle zusammen ein weiterer Dank f\u00fcr die sch\u00f6ne Zeit an Bord. Ich denke, wir waren ein gutes Team!<\/p>\n

Einen ganz besonderer Dank gilt nat\u00fcrlich auch der Crew der SONNE unter Leitung von Kapit\u00e4n Lutz Mallon, die uns zuverl\u00e4ssig und sicher durch den Pazifik gefahren hat und ebenfalls sehr offen f\u00fcr die Fragen und Anliegen des mitreisenden Fotografen\/Bloggers aus der GEOMAR-Pressestelle war.<\/p>\n

We’re back in Antofagasta. This morning around 08 a.m. local time the SONNE has moored in the port from which the expedition SO244 GeoSEA has started 16 days ago. Most of us mentally prepare for the journey home now. But before we leave the ship tomorrow, the containers with our equipment must be lifted ashore.<\/em><\/p>\n

For me a good opportunity to say thank you.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to Heidrun and Dietrich, who planned and organized the GeoSEA project, although many colleagues were skeptical about whether it would work. The success proved them to be right!<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to Anne (K) for the patient instructions in working with ocean bottom seismometers.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to Darren for the invaluable help in translating the blog texts into English.<\/em><\/p>\n

Thanks to Anne (V) for helping me with video shooting (more about that later).<\/em><\/p>\n
